On Monday, September 21sth, we successfully trained 22 new volunteers to become Kids Hope mentors (pictured here to the left)! The next few weeks will be busy as we (finally) begin meeting with the kids!Returning mentors will start first, beginning on Wednesday September 30th and rolling out from there. New mentors will be starting as soon as we have permission slips back from parents!
You can be praying for great connections (and reconnections) between mentors and students. For returning kids, the summer is a long time to be away from someone they care about and some kids can be a bit distant at first. Other kids will be eager to see their mentor (and have been asking me about them since the first day of school!) We would covet your prayers as we create new matches between mentors from CA and new children referred by the school!
By the end of October we should have 50 mentors meeting weekly with 50 children at Eagle Rock Elementary School!
